Palin vs. Romney. If both seek the presidency, it could split the Republican party.

Huck is an odd duck, (TRUE)either very young (NOT TRUE), a few won tons short of a take-out order(TRUE), or a plant.(NOT TRUE). And yes, I get emotional sometimes, as does everyone. Social security is a frustrating issue. It started out as a welfare program. To this day, much of the benefits go to welfare--needy people. It's not a pension or 401K. It's a safety net for people who can't take care of themselves.
I'd like to see the separate deduction eliminated. Collect the revenue all in one lump, as income tax. That would end the LIE that SS is some kind of investment fund with your money in it. It's just taxation.
And it's frustrating to see the worst generation (boomers) cling on to "their" benefits, unwilling to make any sacrifice at all. I'm 43, and I'd gladly see my "contributions" obliterated, if it meant we could reform the system, become solvent, and get the country on the right track again.

End future Social Security Contributions. Reduce future benefits to what people really paid into it, eliminating Ponszi Scheme type benefits. That would be great. But let's assume, for argument's sake, that that can't happen. That eliminating future payments (i.e., phasing out the program) is not an option. What then?
I've always thought of SS as a safety net, i.e.welfare. It's for the old and infirm, the young and destitute. It's for the needy people either young or old, who can't take care of themselves.
If you're going to have a national safety net (welfare program), then it seems to me means-testing makes sense. What kind of welfare program isn't means-tested? And yes, means-testing is wealth-redistribution. How the hell else are you supposed to provide for people WITH NO MEANS OF THEIR OWN?? That's what welfare is.

Herman Cain, West or DeMint.
Christie would sure fight back and probably make them look like the puny little liars and Trolls they are.
If Christie gets it, it would be a cat fight, but I think Christie would win.
It's early and there is ample time to get this right. If we keep on going the way we have since 2008, we are in deep trouble.

I think that Romney could serve Pres. Palin well as Treasury Secretary. Bob

I love Cain, West and DeMint, and if any of these catch fire, I'll proudly and enthusiastically support him. But right now, I'm with Palin/ Rubio ‘12. Bob

No Huck, Christine O’Donnell is a Hillary admirer, so I think she lacks common sense. However, I’d vote for her over Mike Castle without hesitation. Guys like Rove and Krauthammer were disgusting in their attacks against her. Neither jerk, or any of their ilk ever lifted a finger to oppose true-blue Commie Chris Coons. Self-fulfilling prophesies, I’d say. Bob

I think that you’ve bought some of the BS. Sarah is herself, all woman. She likes herself and is comfortable in her own skin. But, no prima donna worth her salt would ever shoot a moose or skin a fish. Bob

You are technically correct, but if I recall reading a while ago the typical Social Security recipient gets back his money, his “employers” money, plus interest in around 3-5 years after he starts drawing...anything after that period would be considered “welfare”...magritte

Thanks SeekAndFind.
The Demwits are split, and that's where we need to concentrate fire -- every so-called Blue Dog barks a good game, but his or her bite is always the same as Pelosi and Reid. THEY HAVE TO GO along with the radicals themselves, there's not a dime's difference between them. The way to get rid of the radicals is through a non-grandfathered term limits system, and we need that now. That can be passed as a Constitutional amendment via state legislatures. Force the bastards out in a national campaign, so we don't have to deal with the local Demwit corruptions, dead voters, fake "absentee" ballots, and other fraud, in any local races.
The Pubbies are not split between Tea Party and RINOs -- Pubbies are split between the local politics ("all politics is local") and the national call of conservative America, which is often found among the Tea Partiers. Calling politicians RINOs because they don't make the Charge of the Light Brigade on every single bill is really just
Paul troll behavior.
