Top two Iranian opposition leaders secretly jailed. West fails to act

The White House on Monday, Feb. 28, said the U.S. "strongly condemns the Iranian government's organized intimidation campaign…" After a human-rights group reported that two opposition figures had been moved from where they were detained under house arrest to an unknown location, the White House accused the Iranian government in general terms of, "blatant violation of the universal rights of its citizens..." as well as "blocking Internet sites and jamming satellite transmissions." The disappearance of Iran's two most prominent opposition figures, Mir-Hossein Moussavi and Mehdi Karroubi, was not mentioned in the White House statement.

debkafile's Iranian sources reveal here that both have been secretly jailed at the infamous Parchin prison.

Thursday night, Feb. 24, they were taken from their Tehran homes, beaten, concealed in large sacks and carried in armored police vehicles to one of Iran's hellhole prisons. Inmates of Parchin are rarely seen again. Their wives have also disappeared to "an unknown location."

Why isn't Obama supporting the revolution against Iran's Ayatollas and their Islamic regime of terror?

Iran says treatment of opposition is internal affair

http://www.monstersandcritics.com/news/middleeast/news/article_1622765.php/Iran-says-treatment-of-opposition-is-internal-affair

Iran on Tuesday said issues related to its opposition were internal affairs and the West had no right to interfere.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast made the comments after Western governments protested the reported weekend transfers of two opposition leaders, Mir Hossein Moussavi and Mehdi Karroubi, and their wives, Zahra Ranhavard and Fatemeh Karroubi, to the Heshmatieh prison in Tehran.

1. These “opposition leaders” have been part & parcel of the regime for the past 32 yrs. Both (incl. Zahra Rahnavard, Mousavi’s wife) played very active roles in, Specifically, bringing this “ayatollah regime” to power. They kept silent for 30 yrs regarding the atrocities of the same regime, against the Iranian people.

2. Only since 2009, post-election outcome, in Iran, they became vocal, Mostly, against Ahmadinejad’s gov’t (not against the regime itself), because they lost in the election. They are still part & parcel of the regime. Iran is not the U.S. - there are no distinct political parties. There are only different factions of the same Islamic regime - hardliner faction has always had the upper hand.

3. It is ironic that they are now, Allegedly, being persecuted by the same regime they, themselves, brought to power & kept silent about until it grew stronger & stronger.

4. It’d be interesting to see if their absence would make a difference as far as the general reaction of the Iranian people is concerned. I’d say it won’t (possibly only with their own limited support/power base/faction).

5. No One knows what exactly is going on in Iran (I still have relatives living in Iran). All related info should be treated as “alleged”. One of the strengths of the Iranian regime is that they are very good at disseminationg propaganda (often mixing truth or half-truth with lies).

6. Should there be Concrete proof of their death in the hands of the regime, it will only further prove that the regime is rotten. It may hopefully further unite the Iranian people against the ENTIRE regime. But, somehow, I don’t think so.

“White House on Monday, Feb.....”
I guess they use the term “White House” to denigrate the present occupant of the United States Executive Mansion.
