A Sudden Shift of the Tide by Ari Bussel
It is often said that left on her own, Israel does not need enemies. For the past two months we have been witnessing the reverse: The Middle East, Israel aside, has insurmountable problems. Neither the so-called Arab-Israeli Conflict nor the Palestinian Problem has anything to do with the Middle East upheaval.
It also became clear in Tahrir Square and later in Tripoli that the United States has much to do with what is taking place. Although it has not been shown the USA has instigated the so-called Youth Uprising, Obama and his Administration have taken a very active role in interfering, orchestrating and directing the events toward a New Middle East.
It was a few years ago that I had a very contentious discussion with a prominent Dutch businessman. While the disagreement was about Israel and her Muslim enemies, it was a comment made he made, that I dismissed initially, that left a lasting impression. There is a very small group of people that control what is happening in the world, and their motive is simple: power and money.
Normally I would have discounted this statement to a conspiracy theory not worthy of attention. The person, though, is a very rational businessperson to whom money (and power) are paramount. He would not treat such a thought lightly, nor would he utter it offhandedly.
As we look at the force with which the 2011 Tsunami is sweeping the Middle East, one is left at awe gaping at its strength: Iron clad grips of three and four decades crumble within two to three weeks, one countrys regime collapses after the next, nothing seems able to stop the advancing menace. Almost like a ferocious virus to which humanity has not yet devised an antidote.
Who may have introduced this virus? What is the end game? Are the specific hits targeting pipelines and refineries in Egypt and Iraq and the (current and planned) stop of flow of oil from the major producing countries incidental (i.e. designed by Al Qaeda or Iran) or part of the very plan to drive oil production to a halt, a point where the global economy will come to a stand still and collapse?
I am not going to venture a guess as to the mechanisms driving the current Storm of the Century. Instead, I would offer one course of action that has been advocated for a very long period of time, and I would end with a warning to all those who refuse to accept reality.
Rather than looking at designing a New Middle East, the USA should focus its resources and energy at finding an alternative to oil, one that can be implemented immediately. When a looming threat is so great and we are driven into a corner, it is then we use our ingenuity and everything good in America to come up with viable solutions.
An American Administration did exactly that and brought World War II to an end. A zero sum game threat balance was subsequently maintained for decades with the Soviet Union until President Reagans famous Tear Down this Wall, Mr. Gorbachev speech. The United States of America can undoubtedly do the impossible again, if we only possessed the impetus.
President Obama, it is time for a new Manhattan Project.
The warning is to President Obama too, for there are still nine months and a year left in his presidency. The Tsunami sweeping the Middle East could be your finest hour. It is now time to prepare for a shift in the tide, from calls to Democracy to Death to America.
Decades of hatred toward everything Western do not abate in a historical second. The Friday sermons over the loudspeakers in the mosques throughout the Middle East and on their 24 hours a day TV broadcasting cannot dissipate into nothing overnight. The sediment and hatred already exist and are ready to explode.
President Obama seems to light more matches, rather than diffusing the threat, getting involved in the very actions from which we must stay distanced. His actions, slight flip-flopping style and conflicting voices speaking on behalf of America seem to indicate an immature, unprofessional approach. It is the behavior of one who has not yet mastered international diplomacy and refuses to recognize Middle Eastern culture and mentality. It is American diplomacy at its worse.
The Presidential matches may not create the explosion. Something else will trigger it. But at that very moment, all the hatredsome admittedly justifiedtoward those decades-long rulers will turn on America and its Zionist Advance Force on the Ground, Israel.
There is nothing more galvanizing in the Middle East than shared hatred of the West. Let us remember that basic fact, or we will pay a high price for our forgetfulness.

Obama couldn't direct "Happy Birthday", much less an uprising in the Middle East.
We live in interesting times, Ari.
I believe Obama has little to do with
what is happening other than trying to
catch up to events. Bush laid the ground
work for the events of today, but it will
only take a few missteps by the Boy King
to bring it all to a horrible conclusion.
Forewarned is forearmed as they say,
prepare for the worst.
Please know that many Americans stand with Israel
and are doing what they can to mitigate the
actions of this administration.
Next year in Jerusalem my friend.

0bama's "Manhattan Project" would be turning over Manhattan to the Muzzies.
0bama isn't part of the solution - he's part of the problem!
Our support of Israel on a spiritual level and our need for oil is why we have anything to do with the failed efforts to stabilize these nut job regimes.
I will rather run out of food and oil then have my country betray Israel. Let's hope our next President understands this above all.
I love the optimism here!
I do not believe for a second that the United States has anything to do with the agent provocateurs who are stirring up the bored, ignorant masses of youths in so many Middle Eastern countries these days. These agents are likely Islamic fundamentalists who have taken their cue from the Euro-socialist anarchists who always show up at G-whatever summits to pee in the streets and get their faces in the news.
Down with this, down with that, but no answer for what should replace this and that (except, I guess, "free stuff"). The "protests" we are currently witnessing in the Middle East are nothing more than your classic, garden variety flash mobs. "It's party time, dude-uhammed!"
A competent American leadership would surely understand that instability in that part of the world represents an imminent danger to the interests of the United States. Stable, benevolent dictatorships (and kingdoms) are far preferable to the chaos that has exploded in recent months. ...And Ubama actually appears to be cheering the mobs on!
/facepalm
Thank you for posting your entries here.
Good stuff.
Bill Ayers and Code Pink have been helping foment this chaos. Ayers wife, Bernadine Dohrn rode alongside the Gaza Flotilla attempting to break the blockade that Israel has to protect it’s people from outsiders who wish to do them hArm. Obama is a good friend and neighbor and launched his presidential campaign in the Ayers living room. He sat in Jeremiah Wright’ s church which gave awards to Quaddafi and Louis Farrakhan. There is a connection and Obama wants this chaos. Of course the media will never try to find out. They are too busy trying to make the emporer child some clothes
Have you noticed whenever the news mentions “youths” they are referring to male 40 year old muslims?

I made a similar point yesterday: We must become energy independent, yesterday. Cajoling fickle OPEC members to act "fairly" & responsibly is a losing (& expensive) game of the last 40 years or more.
Where I differ with the author is oil. Bussel wants an alternative to oil immediately. No alternative to oil is gonna happen immediately. Even if something was invented/discovered TODAY, it would be years before it would meaningfully reduce our dependence on oil.
We don't need an expensive Manhattan Project (which took years BTW), we have the technology now, we have the equipment & workers now. What we don't have is a willing Federal Gov’t, which apparently does not see the HUGE national security issue of being energy dependent on fickle dictatorships that produce oil.
The immediate solution to energy independence is domestic oil, gas, & coal. We need to “drill, baby, drill” “mine, baby, mine” & build nuke plants in the US to END our dependence on foreign energy sources, create jobs, & cut our foreign trade deficit.
The result would be a far stronger America, far lower world oil prices, & far less money going to our enemies.
This seems so obvious that it astounds me that this idea has been around since the 1973 oil embargo, yet has never been seriously considered by Rats or Pubs. I suppose the pols are scared of the environmentalists’ unreasonable demands re. drilling & mining. This attitude is a big part of the bankrupting of America.
Money from a central source finances all these civil disturbances and the end game is world domination.
“Conspiracy theory” is a term just like “Sarah Palin” or “Tea Party”. The media have jumped on it with knee-jerk reaction so often that the rest of us start to do it too.
What is there not to believe about money/power world class conspiracy? Certainly the motive is there. The human animal gets absolutely drunk on power, and money can be a regular orgy to it.
