However, does the author explain why actors, who usually are very attractive, are almost universally left wing? I think this is a case of displacement.

I think it is simpler than that: they live and work in a world of make-beleive. Back in the days of Jimmy Steward, John Wayne, Walter Matthau, Audrie Hepburn and Ronald Reagan, Hollywood lived in the same world as the rest of us and, thus, their political views pretty much reflected the spectrum of public opinion from whence they ame.

In those days you would have been thought insane, not to mention blacklisted, if you expressed the modern liberal view. It was not something that anyone would speak out loud even if they believed it.

This whole "study" is a politically motivated crock of sh*t. Do we have to guess what the author's political leanings are?

I think you're right, though. Leftists would be attracted to the world of make-believe. That's the only place where their ideas work.
