Newsweek's Eleanor Clift on Friday amazingly asked, "Since when does Scott Walker represent 'the people'?"

Such happened during a heated discussion on PBS's "The McLaughlin Group" about the goings-on in Wisconsin (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Problem is, the left doesn’t want the split. They want to enslave us to continue paying their way.

It’s going to get really ugly, I am afraid.

To them, only democrats represent the people. How I hope that this and next year will bring a sea change to the DEM/PUB relationship.

The GOP has to grow a set of stones, grow a backbone, stomp the labor unions and realize that the thugs “across the aisle” are not just political competitors but the enemy not unlike Al-Qaeda.

Then they should start taking a good look of what Islam is bringing to this country and ask themselves the question: “Do I want Islam or do I want to preserve my country?”, because the two can never co-exist.

I'm a liberal.
I just came off two years of having the White House
and both houses of Congress
controlled by people just like me.

And I still look like this.

On a side note, I skimmed through the latest Newsweek while at the dentist last week. It's felt like a pamphlet, and read like a free progressive newspaper that we have in abundance here in the Portland area. How can they possibly be making any money? There were basically no advertisements in it.

I used to travel to San Fran 2-3 times/yr for 2 or so days. What always amazed me was these lib yuppies will sit in their local coffee shops with that San Fran Chronicle smothering their faces & as I assume believing every piece of crapola leftist writings. Oh My! What sheeple.

And it’s not just the union elites - we’re being squeezed on the other side by people who don’t work at all.

I don’t see any way America will ever come back together again. It’s gone too far.

I agree. So, it's time to get the war on. No compromises - the time for talking has passed.

Geez, I am blonde and even know the answer to the dang question.... The people who voted in the last Wisconsin election. You would have to be pretty ignorant not to know the correct answer.

Just a reflex. To a leftist “the people” is just a euphemism for their party’s hierarchy.

"How stupid are these people?"

They are setting the stage to burn down the Wisconsin capitol and say it was "the will of the people."

This thing with unions is probably going to get real nasty...maybe deadly.

She did no homework.

Scott Walker served in the Wisconsin State Legislature. He was elected.

He was also elected to the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors.

He served as the County Executive in Milwaukee for several terms.

He ran for Congress in 2004 and would have won, except that the GOP sandbagged him by publicly pulling his funding in the final weeks. Once his numbers fell, they reinstated a small portion of that funding.

He ran for Governor, of course, and won in the past election.

Note that he represented his State District. He represented his County Township. He represented the entire County Board. And he now represents the entire state.

Oh, and Eleanor? Just to beat you to it, Milwaukee County is neither uniformly wealthy, nor Republican. It is highly unionized and highly Democrat Party.

So, just who do _you_ think the *people* are?

That show needs a trap door.

Dr. Evil's setup would be best. Wonder how dimwit Eleanor would fare against sharks with friggin' laser beams on their heads?

She’s a real dope. We used to watch her when she was on some show...looks like she ate a crate of lemons then quickly sat down on her chair. Yipes....

How about because I voted for Walker? Last time I checked, I’m still one of The People of Wisconsin.

(Liberalism is a mental disorder.)
