I had always assumed, which I shouldn’t have, that Laura Bush was a conservative. It turns out she’s not very conservative.

Texas is OK. There’s parts about it that I really like and others that I don’t like. I wasn’t forced to go, I chose the DFW area. I’d always heard how conservative Texas was and now that I live here it’s not that conservative. Maybe out in rural areas it is, but there is a lot of liberal lunacy going on in the DFW area—UN initiatives which I believe cause high taxation, sanctuary cities and illegals running all over the place. I still see an awful lot of “Obama for President” bumper stickers. Maybe that’s true of all big cities. I don’t even want to go to Austin—I hear that’s the weirdest of all.

Austin and surrounding areas are absolustely beautiful, BUT, big BUT.
It is about as liberal as you’ll find.
