No, the British mission was NOT flawless. They had to pray bribes to let airplanes land. The flights were delayed because the government dithered in dispatching. If there was a flawless operation, and I doubt it, it was the French operation.

That was the civil chartered aircraft in Tripoli. Everybody that went through Tripoli had to pay bribes in order to get out. Those C-130s didn’t seek permission to go into rescue the oil workers.

The fluid nature of war requires adapting to changes. Bribes, etc. were adaptations that resulted in a flawless evacuation.

Unlike our own pathetic administration’s attempts at an evac.
