Started as HR2748 (Passed House early last year) that was taken up by the Senate as S.510 which passed the Senate in the Lame Duck Session late at night with a voice vote. When they realized it was a spending bill and had to originate in the House it was read in and replaced HR2751 (unrelated bill) which was sent back to the Senate and on Dec 19, 2010 it passed in the Senate with changes by Voice Vote. According to GovTrack a record of each senator’s position was not kept. (I have a record of the vote when passed, might not include the changes) On Dec 21, 2010 A vote in the House of Representatives to agree with the other chamber's changes passed by roll call vote.
They were bought-off by Global Ag and the cost estimate for this bill is 1.4 Trillion Dollars. (this WILL translate into food price increases.)
My garden plans have been trippled and I planted 31 new fruit trees, blueberry bushes, blackberry bushes and strawberries. We have not had chickens on our farm in over 60 years, but I plan to add that next. Over reacting? Possibly, but I don't think so.
