On web.....”I’ve spoken to my cousin in Benghazi and the people there are being armed and sent to Tripoli for the battle of Tripoli.” Pray 4 thm”..... 28 seconds ago
Am reading this on several tweet forums.....also that they are waiting now for the ‘no-fly zone’ to go into affect so they can go in and take Tripoli.
Watched the video and pretty much there is no more army to support Gaddafi anyways, by the end of tomorrow or Sunday it will be over for him.
It is either 600 or 900 miles from Benghazi to Tripoli, does anyone know how good the roads are? There must be a lot of refugee traffic going the other way. Wonder how long it will take to get there.
Don’t know how soon there will be a no fly zone, But government statements tonight said that now that our people are out of the US Embassy, and the ferry has arrived in Malta, and an airplane with others have taken off they are now able to speak more forcefully about actions that are in process. There is a lot of behind the scenes talk going on among the affected countries—US, France, Italy, Turkey, Britain, and others. I guess we will hear more tomorrow.
I heard a Shell oil spokesman just now on Nightline shouting Alarm, Alarm, $5 oil just before the elections. So I took another look at NYMEX Light Crude (to be posted below). High for April $98, May $99, creeping up to $102 by January of 2012, then back down again to below $100. Nothing even close to the $140 to $150 levels of a few years ago when gas was $4 to $5. Those greasy crooks. This fall as oil went over $90 the price went up to $3.07, then it went down to $85, but no down move at the pump. Now it jumps every day up to $3.29 or $3.39. Storage at Cushing, OK is at high levels, lots of oil sitting in tankers waiting for space. Again, those f&*#ing crooks.
Sigh, rant over. Just look at the numbers below.

I pulled up Googe Map Earth, and just spent an hour running all over Libya, large and small. It looks as though the distance from Benghazi to Tripoli is 900 miles, mostly through very barren desert land. I tried to find the Green Square in Tripoli, no luck. But I did find the Police Academy just north of the Zoo. Have fun yourself:

They may have to wait a long time....according to Belmont Club, there are NO US carriers currently in the Med, N-o-n-e. (!!).
Maybe the Israeli Air Force will do something stunning???
