I am constantly astounded by the number of FReepers who don't want gays to vote Republican. There are many reasons why they should, and it's possible to convince many to do so, if you can interact with them calmly, logically, and without bigotry.

"Gay marriage" is a silly desire, and I've already convinced one young gay man of this. This is a man who actually obtained one of those "marriages" done in SF a few years ago.

This young man doesn't vote yet, because he doesn't consider himself well informed. I've encouraged him to wait until he becomes better informed. In the mean time, I take occasional opportunities to educate him about areas where his interests are in-line with Republican interests.

It's more productive to educate people than to run around screaming "faggot".

What are you talking about. Of course I want gays to vote Republican. I also want pedophiles, wife-beaters, and 911 truthers to vote Republican. What I don’t want is these sick groups FORMING A GOP PAC NORMALIZING THEIR SICK LIFESTYLE!

Votes are one thing - flaunting and forcing your sodomite lifestyle on others is something entirely different. Would CPAC have welcomed a group calling itself GOPedo or GOPalchy or GOPilloppers?

So the conservatives you hang with run around screaming "faggot". If not, then where have you seen this kind of thing occur? I've never seen it.

They don't need an identity group to vote. They need one to push their AGENDA. We object to IDENTITY politics based on deviant sexual choices. We object to "special rights" based on deviant sexual choices.

Well, if this is something that you are "constantly astounded" by it won't be a problem for you to provide links where FReepers have suggested this. Can you do this or were you just repeating some leftist talking point?

There are many reasons why they should, and it's possible to convince many to do so, if you can interact with them calmly, logically, and without bigotry.

So, you think FReepers who opposed militant homosexuality are "bigots"?

It's more productive to educate people than to run around screaming "faggot".

Really? Tell us, when you are "educating" the sodomites do you tell them that they are engaging in deviant behavior that is almost certain to shorten their lives and cause numerous health problems? What precisely do you tell homosexuals when you are trying to "educate" them?

It's more productive to educate people that this issue is about opposing a homosexusl sex premised rights agenda. You miss the point completely by calling people 'gay' as if there is some immutable objective characteristic that identifies the homosexual species -this is much like calling abortion 'choice' and socialism 'progressive'.

You quack like a duck... Why should any conservative consider your views at best RINO?

Quack quack...

I think you may be misreading the opposition to GOProud. It is not their conservative voting that is being rejected, but their demand for special recognition and status based on their sexual orientation. The sectioning off into subgroups is the hallmark of the left...the opposite of the "melting pot". Why do you think the word "American" is always last in all of those hyphenated descriptions liberals use to describe themselves? Because the identity politics come first in their minds. That is what GOProud is doing. They are placing their sexual orientation above their supposed conservatism, and that is what is being rejected.

I’m one of the Dim ‘chosen people’. I’m off the plantation and I understand what you are saying.

I came off the plantation because I realized how much more fun it is to work and earn a living.

As for gay people, they need to understand several things. Personal responsbility is a whole part of the system. This means accepting the consequences for harmful behaviour.

What exactly do you mean by “bigotry”, could you please explain precisely what you mean?

Nobody objects to them voting Republican. What planet are you from?

The whole gay movement when it first came out had as its rallying cry, *What we do in the privacy of our own bedrooms is nobody's business.*

From that moment on, they've made it our business. We are sick of them shoving this in our faces at every turn, demanding special privileges, and that it be accepted as normal.

It is not and never will be and we will not ever accept it as normal and allow special privileges to come with sexual preference.

If they don't like the reaction they're getting, it's because THEY are the ones who are not backing off. They can't be constantly be provoking others and then complain about the reaction.

As far as bigotry, go tell them as well to knock it off. You object to people calling them *faggots*. Then don't be a hypocrite and not object to them contemptuously calling us *breeders*.

You're stealth support of the homosexual agenda will not fly here. Sexual perversion is NOT normal and should not have special rights and protections by law.

I do not care how they vote. I do not want gays in the same party because they practice "tyranny of the minority." The truth is the fiscal conservatives in the GOP Congress are not concerned about social conservatives, they would rather fish for votes among homosexuals because they take our votes for granted. Gays are already setting the agenda, the GOP Congress critters will allow DOMA to die on the vine to be gay friendly while throwing us social conservatives an occasional bone and worn out platitudes. Let gays vote republican, I am done with the GOP and will only support conservatives that are both social and fiscal conservatives. I have finally reached a point I will not vote for anyone rather than vote for scum like Burr and Kirk.
