Vote Linda Walker For NRA Board Of Directors

Ohio --(Ammoland.com)- I’m writing to you to ask for your support.

My name is LINDA WALKER and I need your vote for the NRA Board of Directors. When you receive the ballot, either in the mail or in your NRA publication, please cast your vote for me.

As an ardent Second Amendment supporter, I am saddened by the erosion of our US Constitutional Rights over the years. The recent events in Tucson, as well as the Virginia Tech shootings, Colorado church murders, Columbine massacre, and other horrific events, have taught Americans nothing.

For too long, anti-gun advocates have played on the fears and ignorance of a gullible public to erase liberty and self-reliance from our national dialog. But I absolutely refuse to let them win this debate. LINDA WALKER

Linda Walker For NRA Board Of Directors

For many years now, I have called the Ohio Statehouse my second home as I have personally worked with legislators to protect and advance gun rights. While I have sought no personal gain for my efforts, the NRA honored me in 2009 with the “Sybil Ludington Women’s Freedom Award,” the highest honor given to one woman each year for Second Amendment legislation, advocacy, and education.

I serve as the Central Ohio Chair of Buckeye Firearms Association, Ohio’s foremost Second Amendment Rights organization. I have been present and testified in our Statehouse for nearly every hearing and vote over the past several years. I have directly assisted in the passage of legislation establishing Castle Doctrine in Ohio, statewide preemption of local gun bans, and historic reformations of concealed carry laws.

As a proud NRA certified instructor, I have taught well over a thousand students in safe, responsible gun handling and concealed carry. I also serve as Chairman of our county Friends of the NRA, work as an NRA Election Volunteer Coordinator for the Ohio 12th Congressional District, participate in local politics, and support the Ohio Gun Collectors Association.

If you help me get elected to the NRA Board of Directors, I vow that I will fight the encroachment of the BATF on the lawful use of firearms, stop foolish registration schemes, encourage youth and women to participate in hunting and shooting sports, and do everything in my power to prevent the erosion our God-given rights.

I am neither a celebrity nor a wealthy politician. I am a simple American who has dedicated her life to restoring the hopes and dreams of the Founding Fathers. I have fought in the trenches of legislation, educated citizens in basic self-defense, and tried my best to uphold the values of our Constitution.

I have done all this for my family, for my state, for my country, and for you.

If you are a voting member of the NRA, I humbly ask for your faith in me. And I ask for your vote when you receive the Board of Directors ballot in the mail or in your NRA publication scheduled for late February or early March.

Sincerely, Linda Walker

Is she a Dem? The NRA is crawling with Dems so everyone should make sure. WLP gave Pelosi support via the NRA’s support of incumbent Dems so this is not a frivolous question.
If she is willing to challenge the NRA leadership’s support of Dems (especially when the Republican is equally pro-2A) then I’m all for her.

I am not an NRA member due to their inability to think about politics as a system, choosing instead to blindly support incumbents over challengers with better freedom credentials. Perhaps this candidate can make a difference as she seems to have the “in the trenches” background to understand politics as a system.

Several celebrities running for NRA Board as well...Tom Selleck, Lee Ermey, Erik Estrada.
Several pols/former pols...Kenneth Blackwell, Cong. Dan Boren(D-OK), James Gilmore.
A couple “lesser knowns...” Roy Innis (CORE), Carl Rowan.
I encourage all eligible to vote.

Good question. Based on what I've read, I don't think she is. She's done some TEA Party events, worked for the Licking County Republican Party, and in 2010, gave a speech at the Washington County Republican Women's Club.

I quit the NRA last year when it supported that stupid law that forced all organizations except the NRA and AARP to list their donators.

That was a kiss up to Harry Reid and Nazi Pelozi. So the NRA is no longer on my list of organizations to join.

Maybe if they quit kissing liberal butts I’ll rejoin someday.

I believe what Linda Walker is trying to say is we don’t need these celebrities representing us. The NRA does need more of how she deescribes herself:

“I am neither a celebrity nor a wealthy politician. I am a simple American who has dedicated her life to restoring the hopes and dreams of the Founding Fathers. I have fought in the trenches of legislation, educated citizens in basic self-defense, and tried my best to uphold the values of our Constitution.”
I believe Linda may have found a new use for this forum. Let’s have some more NRA members put their names here for nomination (the 250 names required) and maybe, just maybe we can take back the NRA from ther elitists who know better than we do.

“...fight the encroachment of the BATF on the lawful use of firearms...encourage youth and women to participate in hunting and shooting sports”

There is that NRA’s “gun are for sporting purposes only” crap. the RNA has consistantly and proudly supported, helped write, and lobby for every single gun control issue for the past 100 years.

Far too many people here on FR advocate dropping out of NRA. This is contrary to what Neal Knox strongly advised. Change from within. The mechanism is there. Many of these elections are decided by just a few votes. In fact, enough people exist on FR to change the outcomes of some of these NRA elections...

Where does she stand on a legal challenge to the NICS system? Repealing the NFA? Overturning GCA '68? Providing legal support to people charged with violations of the above acts? Overturning all state laws requiring any sort of license to buy or possess a firearm of any type?

I don't care what she thinks about the "shooting sports." They have nothing to do with gun rights and are a straw man used by gun controllers.

The NRA lost a lot of support from longtime members (myself included) when they went soft. Turns out they had supported most major gun control initiatives through the 20th century.
