CPAC is always a great opportunity to discover new voices in the conservative movement and enjoy the wisdom of time-tested crowd favorites. From the very young up-and-comers to the senior policy makers, CPAC has it all. And we cant forget controversy! Theres always enough to satisfy the drama-hounds and this year was no disappointment. From the gay conservative bash to the Ron Paul-istinians booing Donald Rumsfeld, CPAC was many things but certainly not boring. Youve probably already seen the headlines, especially the ones that made it to Drudge, but Ive picked out the ones you might have missed if you werent looking. The following are my favorite moments encompassing some of the popular speeches and some off the cuff moments you wont see anywhere else.
9. Ann McElhinney
Leave it to people who dont come from America to give us the heads up on whats coming if we keep listening to the sanctimonious Left. Ann McElhinney is a journalist from Ireland, a Big Hollywood reviewer who writes scathingly great movie reviews, recently skewering Julia Roberts for her role in the vapid Eat, Pray Love. Her review of it is not to be missed, entitled, Hollywood Feminism: Eat Pray Love Vomit Rinse Repeat. McElhinney is probably most known for her documentaries. This fearless woman has taken on big environmentalists with her films Not Evil Just Wrong and Mine Your Own Business both pro-capitalist, pro-American films that expose the anti-prosperity Left.
This year at CPAC, McElhinneys greatest moment happened in the hallway where she seriously schooled an environmentalist nutjob who crashed CPAC. In this hilarious video, you will hear her nail him to the wall over why, if hes so in love with electric vehicles, does he not have one of his own? Prepare to laugh.
