Still not an excuse for Christie not looking around for a way to get cheaper insurance. I looked over his system ~ it's not outrageously out of line with most such systems ~ maybe a tad higher here and there, but it breaks out medical from drugs from dental. The federales pay about the same for a program that combines medical, drugs and some form of dental.

It's my suspicion that Christie doesn't care ~ he always found his own medical insurance plan difficult to deal with so he's not about to get involved in this one ~ just give him another 1.5% and he's happy.

Federales already pay 28% ~ which is more than 4 times what any of the NJ state people pay personally.

Hey man, I'm sure if he can get the price cut, he will. Or at least he's got somebody seeing if it's an option. But no matter what discount he could possibly get still ain't gonna dig him out of the hole with public sector union bennies. I pay 50% of my health insurance premiums where I work, and am glad to get half off. 1.5% sounds nice to me too.

But I'm happy just to have a good job. :)
