Assembly refuses to return budget repair bill to committee

The Assembly voted 56-39 to reject returning the guv's budget repair bill to committee after some eight hours of debate.

Freshman Rep. Tom Larson of Colfax was the only Republican to join Dems in voting to send the bill back to committee.

Dems went to caucus following the vote.

The Wisconsin State Assembly spent most of today "debating" Amendments to the Budget Repair Bill. By "debating" I mean letting each Democrat have spend his/her alloted time (and then some) caterwauling and whining about how "it's not fair to take away people's 'rights' and how mean Scott Walker and the Republicans are). Debate centered on a motion that would have sent the bill to committee where the RATs would do their utmost to eviscerate and defeat it.

In the end all but one Republican voted to reject the motion (and he needs a trip to the woodshed and a switch kick in the arse). So now it's - On Wisconsin!

What does this mean? Does this go onto the Senate? Is this the same budget bill the Senate Rats skipped the state over?
