Washington Post owned Slate.com used a crude misogynist wordplay to call Sarah Palin a c*** in a headline for an article published Tuesday about a supposed secret Sarah Palin Facebook account.
The headline reads: Sarah Palin Uses Alternate Facebook Accunt To Praise Sarah Palin
The article, posted in Slate's "Slatest" section, is based on an article from Wonkette titled, Sarah Palin Has Secret Lou Sarah Facebook Account To Praise Other Sarah Palin Facebook Account, that in a rare show of class for Wonkette does not use the sexist slur in the article.
Two commmenters at Slatest criticized Slate for the slur with one writing, "I've let go of my reflexive typo pointing in the Slatest, but Facebook accunt? on a Sarah Palin's tidbit, come on guys, at least get a basic spellcheck function."
Given Slate's prominence as a respected part of the mainstream media with professional standards to uphold, an innocent typo of this magnitude with this subject is highly unlikely.(For the benefit of Media Matters senior blogger Eric Boehlert, try to imagine Slate "accidently" doing the same to Michelle Obama or Nancy Pelosi. It wouldn't happen.)
During the 2008 presidential campaign, liberal activists paraded in public wearing t-shirts emblazoned in large lettering, "Sarah Palin is a c***" with the c-word fully spelled out.
The Slate article itself does not bear a timestamp, but the comments begin at 5:18 p.m., meaning the article with the offensive headline has been up for nearly four hours as of this writing.
Earlier today, Palin denied having a secret Facebook account, writing on her official Facebook page "On a side note, theres always buzz about fake Sarah Palin Facebook and Twitter accounts. Please know that this is my only authentic Facebook account and SarahPalinUSA is my only authentic Twitter account. Pay no attention to the fake accounts and their fake messages."
If they don’t control her, and can’t control her, they must destroy her because simple honesty can sink all of their boats.
When placed next to a person who is truly good, the bad must blur the definition of good, or attempt to confuse what makes a person good. The result is a skeptical public that believes that no one is really good.
When placed against a person who has a nearly perfect record of service, the slacker must create doubt about that record as they have no such record to put forward. The efforts to distort or bury Sarah Palin’s record will continue unabated. The result is a skeptical public that believes that no one has a nearly perfect record of service.
When placed against a person who is true in heart and faithful to their spouse, family, and community, the unfaithful must destroy the faithful and their family and their community or be seen for who they are. No politician’s family has ever been attacked at the level of the Palin family. The left had no compassion for the people of Alaska when they immobilized the state government with baseless law suits. The result is a skeptical public that believes that no one is faithful and true of heart.
In order to destroy Sarah Palin, the left will also have to destroy the values she believes in and shares with millions of Americans. They have a big task ahead. Can they make Americans abandon the Constitution, the Declaration, and the Judeo-Christian values on which they were based? Will we abandon capitalism in favor of socialism? In order to defeat Sarah Palin, voters will have to be convinced that socialism is better and our founding documents no longer apply. Their only hope is to confuse with lies and false accusations and to follow the Clinton strategy, “It all depends what the definition of “is” is.”
In order to defeat Sarah Palin, the left must make skeptics out of American voters. The good news is that skepticism can be easily overcome when confronted with reality. Gov. Palin is about to start a campaign that will give the left and the media a harsh dose of reality. I can’t wait.
The Left is so sexually and racially insecure that it commonly results in viciousness.
