"Gee! I wonder why the elevated levels?"

Years ago during a check up, they wanted to test my resting heart rate and the gal put her hand on my neck to get my pulse while I was sitting.

*Your rate is not slowing down, it's increasing!

Well, what do you expect when a pretty gal, in a tight outfit stands in front of me and puts her hand on my neck?

I understand that phenomenon. My physical in January was conducted by the doc's Physician Assistant, a young and attractive blond woman. (including the least unpleasant prostrate check I've ever had. :) Then after I had a heart stress test, with the cardio doc in attendance, I saw his PA for the follow up. Another attractive young lady. My BP was up when the nurse took it.. yep, another cute young lady.

My heart is just fine. Had an "anomaly" in my EKG from the physical and they were just checking that out. As the lady said: "It's just the way I'm wired". But the PA took the time to show me exactly what the anomaly was and which leads on the EKG it showed up on. Said it was "non specific", meaning they really don't know what part of the "wiring" of the heart it's coming from, since the signals get all mixed up before the "leads" pick them up. I suspect it it the same "glitch" that got back surgery postponed about 10 years ago in San Antonio. But now that I know where it is in the EKG traces, I should be able to avoid that sort of thing again. I should have contacted my old doc in San Antonio, but I can't even remember his name. :) I was able to figure out the names of the cardiologists I saw there though, might have been able to get the information from them, and save a lot of hassle.

OTOH, the cardio doc also ordered a sleep study, which showed I have moderate to severe sleep apnea. I go in for a second "titration" study Thursday night. This time with a CPAP mask, and they will "tweak" the pressure to see what, if anything, works best for me.
