Be careful with that advice. In many states (including (m)assachusetts I believe) it is illegal to film the police.

I suppose you could ask their permission.

Being on your private property could easily make a difference from being on public property.

At least you could get them denying consent.

I think I'd stay inside and give them my phone number (it's in the book anyway).
