With DeMint, Pence, Christie and Thune gone, and the fact only Romney and Huckabee are competitive (and barely, at that) in a hypothetical general tells me the GOP has a horrendously weak field.

Good people see what happened to Palin. They're simply not willing to subject themselves and their families to the political meatgrinder.

It's almost a dependable pattern that the true nominee doesn't surface until much closer to the primary, and it usually isn't anyone that everyone expected. I'm thinking George Bush here as an example.

This is a great source of comfort to me, as I watch the usual RINO egomaniacs parade about making their big inferences about throwing in their hat. Perhaps there is a true conservative in the wings who we haven't thought of yet.
