Ex-French defense chief says, despite close defense ties, Israel refused requests to back up claims that Hezbollah stored Scuds in Syria.
Despite close defense ties, the defense establishment refused numerous requests from France for evidence to back up Israeli claims that Syria last year transferred long-range Scud missiles to Hezbollah in Lebanon, visiting former French defense minister Hervé Morin told The Jerusalem Post on Monday.
Last April, Israeli defense officials said that Syria had transferred long-range Scud missiles to Hezbollah in Lebanon. A month later, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told his Italian counterpart, Silvio Berlusconi, that Hezbollah was storing the missiles inside Syrian military bases.

Syria will deny having Scuds even after they have been launched from their soil.

They were prolly on a fishing expedition for intel. I bet if the Israelis were dumb enough to tell them that info would have directly went to Syria. Remember, the frenchies used to run Syria.
Maybe in a few decades time, Israel will stop talking and start acting.
If they have them , then Israel is guilty of not defending their nation.
Too bad we can’t zot the French.
They so deserve it.
The French military has lunatics within their ranks, like Pierre-Henri Bunel, who are actively seeking to destroy French security arrangements in the Mediterranean, and the Frenchmen Alain Pellegrini commanding UNIFIL who had flat out stated he would not perform any disarming of Hezbollah nor check any Hez vehicles for arms smuggling in direct violation of the UNIFIL mandate.
NO sane government in the region can trust French military liaisons with ANY sensitive classified information for fear the French will pass it on to opposing interests.
The Israelis won’t tell the French anything because it will leak to Hezbollah and then they move the scuds. Let Hezbollah wonder what the Israelis really know.
