I have little sympathy. She was running around over there in their culture with her head uncovered. That means she is a prostitute in the moslem world.

Ah, a multicultural troll! You respect them and their definition of a prostitute, do you? You wouldn't be from Cambridge, would you? Or, more likely, P-town? Or perhaps Northampton (if you work that side of the street)?

You need to learn that not all cultures are created equal. That not all cultures are worthy of respect. That some cultures are more equal than others.

There is absolutely no reason we should respect the culture of the sand nazis!

The problem with your average Western journalist — male or female — is they have is unassailable “bubble of invincibility” that wards of all manner if evil because (wait for it) they are JOURNALISTS and are immune to the real world. Consider this incident from the civil wars raging in the Balkans.

A news crew was driving very fast past some high rise buildings that had been badly shot-up by small arms and light artillery fire. They were on a four lane road and were taking some occasional sniper rounds. The news crew, local driver, reporter, and camera/sound man pulled off the highway for some footage. They stopped under the overhanging facade of a shot-up hotel and started filming.

A French news crew arrived and started doing the same thing. The French female reporter thought that the lighting wasn't right for her or some other stupid reason. She backed out from under the overhang and into the open — completely exposed to anyone in the surrounding high rises.

The news crews told her her to come back, but she knew what was better for her. There was a shot and a 198-grain 7.92x57 bullet hit her in the head killing her instantly. So much for your bubble of invincibility Ms. Journalist. You are now positively, completely, and irrevocably DEAD.

I don't think the poster said we have to respect their culture, but rather their culture subjugates women, independent of our respect (or lack thereof) for their culture.

The point here is that the reporter (and her supporters) apparently expected her to be treated with OUR standards while she was in THEIR country.

Whoops! When you leave YOUR country, you leave YOUR standards behind. On the "Arab Street", that blonde dipdunk was a piece of meat waiting to be taken. If you want equal rights, a repesect for law, a repsect for journalism and a repsect for women, I suggest you confine your travels to the U.S. and Western Europe.....

Who are you to think that an American traveling in the Arab world brings a bubble of U.S. culture that envelops them and keeps them safe? I've been to the Middle East on business and I would NEVER bring my tall blonde wife there, any more than I'd take her to North Philadelphia, Camden, or any other 3rd world dunghole.

You are projecting falsely. Why?
