Prominent Washington aide John Wheeler was assassinated by a hitman in a targeted killing, his widow has claimed.
Katherine Klyce said the way her late husbands body was dumped at a landfill site could only have been carried out by a professional.
The 66-year-old suggested his work with the Pentagon over his decades-long career could have made him enemies who wanted rid of him.

Or some Crack Head.
P.S. The body wasn’t dumped at the landfill.
It was dumped into a DUMPSTER in some alleyway.
How awful for the wife who discovers her husband has a secret life she knows nothing about. How awful when he is finally discovered.
For her sake, I hope she is right. Lord have mercy on this poor woman.
For her sake, if she is wrong, I hope some terrible truth never comes out. Lord have mercy on this poor woman.

Interesting. How much credence to give this one?
Thanks Suvroc10.
The two flights on her credit card were from New York to Madrid totalling $3,000. It is not clear if these were made by any police officers or by a third party
That is bizarre.
You betcha!
I’m trying to figure that out, too, await Albion’s response. It’s as if some people don’t know ‘who he was.’
In the Daily Mail article, Thomas McInerney is identified as a “retired military officer,” or something to that effect. Actually McInerney is a retired Air Force Lieutenant General, a man not given to making outrageous or exaggerated claims. When Wheeler’s body was first discovered (and details of his final, confused hours began to emerge), General McInerney said it “had all the makings of a professional hit.” To my knowledge, McInerney has never retracted his comment.
Thanks for the ping, LucyT!

After the murder, Klyce was a victim of identify theft, he said. Someone charged a $3,000 overseas airline ticket from New York to Madrid on her credit card. However, Connolly said Wheeler did not carry his wife’s card and a link to his murder seems highly unlikely.

She also attacked the police investigation into his death and claimed it hard made her life miserable. Officers have confiscated personal items including credit cards and strange charges have been appearing on them in recent weeks including two flights worth $3,000, she said.
After the cards were in the 'custody'of the police? It doesn't make that clear.
Her cards weren't with her husband, but with her - until the police took them?
That's the way it sounds.
