The difference I think is the time, we are in crisis and 0dumbo has told us over and over we have to sacrifice.
When Laura Bush went to Africa she was actually bringing notice to increase in malaria as well as AIDS> I hardly think visiting mozambique’s mosquito infested areas qualifies as a luxury vacation.
The MSM has tried to ginn that trip up to offset manchelles trips, first to spain and now to colo. they don’t get the facts right but that doesn’t stop them
I have no problems with critical examination of Presidential expenditures. But, I do think hypocritical pettiness is unhelpful. Yes, Laura Bush took vacations. And yes, some of those vacations happened during the recession years between 2001-2003. You can do a simple google search and find her vacations to Mammoth Lakes near Yosemite and to a resort lodge in Washington in 2003. And, those were straight vacations. Laura, like every First Lady before her (and after), also managed to work in some R&R during "official" visits to foreign locales.
This isn't a scam that was crafted by the Obamas, nor will it be a scam that ends with them.
