Is this something (Government expenses from Vacations by the First Family) you think we should fix (pass a law) or is it only something you want to complain about?

How would you word the law? I guess working vacations are ok (free).

Should the first family travel by commercial air when they take personal vacations or pay the cost of the military aircraft?
Should they pay the costs incurred by the Secret Service during vacations?

You misread my point. When Bush went on vacations he usually went home not to some luxury spot when Americans who are lucky to hold on to their jobs are sweating it out as we see this group of grifters doing now. He worked his ranch much like Reagan did in his day.

Not a bad idea for the First Fam to pay for their own private vacations just as we have to. For security they need the AF1 and SS but do they need to take the whole world of friends along for the ride? The Clintons did this too and maybe even Bush. You actually had some good ideas to kick around for this reimbursement to the taxpayer..and it should affect all the congress critters as well..a la San Fran Nan case..wild use of taxpayer funds for her royal trips too.
