"The First Lady and the Obama daughters are on a private family trip to Colorado," Michelle Obama's spokeswoman, Katie McCormick-Lelyveld, confirmed in an e-mail. "The First Lady and several close family friends are chaperoning their children on a ski trip. Personal expenses are being paid for by the Obamas."

I saw on one of the networks that the Obama’s are worth $5 million. Number one, how does a community organizer earn an estate worth $5 million and Number two, did the Obama’s take all of these vacations when he was a community organizer?

I’m sure Marie Antoinobama doesn’t stay in something as mundane as that hotel room. They have Presedential suites (entire floors) for the kids to ride their bikes around in.

You misread my point. When Bush went on vacations he usually went home not to some luxury spot when Americans who are lucky to hold on to their jobs are sweating it out as we see this group of grifters doing now. He worked his ranch much like Reagan did in his day.
Not a bad idea for the First Fam to pay for their own private vacations just as we have to. For security they need the AF1 and SS but do they need to take the whole world of friends along for the ride? The Clintons did this too and maybe even Bush. You actually had some good ideas to kick around for this reimbursement to the taxpayer..and it should affect all the congress critters as well..a la San Fran Nan case..wild use of taxpayer funds for her royal trips too.

Hmm, sure wish I could take a ski/beach/foreign vacation every 3 weeks..
I’d have gone for 98 degrees and raining, if I’d done it, just to make sure the locals were happy.
