I have. Pretty scar and very dramatic. A friend saw one come through the wash by her house. Big wall of water, lots of noise, boulders, etc. Not a cloud in the sky.
Filled the first floor of some homes to the ceiling with mud!
Happened in San Bernandino County in city of Highland...near Redlands.
Not sure where this one happened.
Hey Ernest, I've never actually even seen a flash flood, even when out in the desert camping during *heavy* rains..I visit my brother-in-law in Arizona between Havasu and Kingman. The terrain looks like a moon scape but there are (dry) "washes", some are HUGE that you can tell major amounts of water has flowed through. The funny thing is, I've been there in some heavy rains and there are NO puddles afterward...You can barely tell it even rained. It's hard to believe there can be flash floods in that soil.
