I must admit I haven’t been following this very closely. If the dems have the majority, why not just vote “NO” and defeat the bill if they don’t like it?

Not following at all I'd say. The breakdown of the WI legislature:

Assembly: Republicans - 19 Democrats - 14

Senate: Republicans - 60 Democrats - 38 Independents - 1

Nods. Yes Wisconsin was one of the REALLY big swings in November. And clearly, there are a LOT of people who do not like it when the shoe is on the other foot : |

Ah... I see. I had assumed the assembly to be bigger than that, and 19 Republicans would’ve been the minority.
