PRIEBUS: Happy stimulus day
The Washington Times ^ | February 16, 2011 | Reince Priebus

Posted on 02/17/2011 10:20:13 AM PST by Hunton Peck

Two years ago today, President Obama signed into law a “stimulus package” that his administration promised would keep unemployment under 8 percent. What has been the result of nearly $1 trillion spent on the so-called “stimulus?” Twenty-one months of unemployment at or above 9 percent, 2.6 million jobs lost, unsustainable budget deficits and an ever-growing national debt.

Americans rejected the Democrats’ reckless tax and spend policies last November. Despite this “shellacking,” Mr. Obama‘s proposed budget ignores the will of the American people and reflects a complete lack of seriousness for our fiscal crisis.

In my capacity as the new chairman of the Republican National Committee, it is my job to help hold President Obama accountable for his lack of leadership.

Looking at the president’s fiscal 2012 budget, my job may have just gotten a little easier.

The RNC chairman would be better off about the business of raising the funds to remove the Obamistas from power.

If I wanted an economist, I'd find one ~ this guy ain't one, and it's not his job.

No one should be surprised to find Preibus wasting his time. The Republican party faction he represents doesn't know how to win, how to be a winner, or how to go about setting things up to win.

Didn’t he come from Wisconsin where the GOP just swept into power? I admit I only know a little about him so far in terms of fundraising or organization, but his election track record seems pretty good. He didn’t seem to be the darling of the insiders during the RNC debates.

Don't you think that putting out statements like this MAY drive more money in the direction of the RNC? I do.

What the Republican Party needs to be doing right now is showing all of the stark differences there are between what Americans have screamed for and what Obama has delivered. I see this article as a good first step.

Naw, the next election campaign has already started. RNC needs the funds much sooner than normal.

You'll find three factors in Wisconsin ~ the TEA Party, general dissatisfaction with the state Democrats who've become more and more Fascistic over their years in power, and absolute dissatisfaction with the national Democrats.

Preibus and his crowd benefited from that ~ not from anything they did to engineer a victory.

Oh please. They guy turned a blue state red and all you have to do is look up there today to see how crazy it is driving the democrats. This guy comes to the RNC with a proven track record of WINNING. But hey, he has been there for what, two months, lets run em out of there before we have any clue what kind of job he will do. I know, maybe we can get Michael Steele back.

I know that the RNC is not my favorite group to give money to, given its connection to some establishment types. Nonetheless, I will not simply knee jerk write it off for its past sins if the proper leadership turns it around and heads it into the right direction.

Yeah, you gotta' flex your knee. NOBODY has given any reason in particular about why Preibus has political opinions that need to be reverenced ~ he did nothing that Steele didn't do also.

Winning wasn't considered a valid reason for thinking of Steele as anything other than a party appratchik, so it sure shouldn't be considered special when it comes to Preibus.

You guys got to get over this ~ the RNC chairman has a job to do and it's not that of being the leader of Republican party ideological theory. He's a fund raiser. He's a budgeteer.

It's his job to go get the money even if from wealthy lesbians in Beverly Hills.
