Raising Cain
The Washington Times ^ | Feb. 16, 2011 | Jennifer Harper

The national discourse on race jolts forward again. Consider that presidential hopeful Herman Cain spoke with gusto at CPAC 2011 to an appreciative audience. Mr. Cain, however, drew a caustic essay from Alternet columnist Chauncey DeVega — a pseudonym — who claimed Mr. Cain‘s “shtick is a version of race minstrelsy where he performs ‘authentic negritude’ as wish fulfillment for white conservative fantasies. Like the fountain at Lourdes, Cain in his designated role as black conservative mascot, absolves the white racial reactionaries at CPAC of their sins.”

Man, those liberals are racist.

Yes. And Herman Cain isn't a man to take lightly. By anyone.

“Like the fountain at Lourdes, Cain in his designated role as black conservative mascot, absolves the white racial reactionaries at CPAC of their sins...”

What sort of idiotic gibberish is this? “DeVega”, whomever he is, needs to apologize to Mr. Cain for his disrespectful statement. He also should not attempt to use Catholic imagery when he clearly is either an idiot or a bigot. The “fountain at Lourdes” has nothing whatsoever to do with absolving people from their sins. Clearly “Mr. DeVega” is also not a Christian. Only Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross can grant us the chance of salvation, and a merciful God forgives us.

This is breath-takingly despicable. Whoever the author of this inflamatory racism is, he needs to public apologize profusely to Mr. Cain . . . . at EVERY campaign event he appears at until the 2012 election . . . . . AND, he needs to acknowledge that he is a card-carrying liberal spewing liberal racist venom.

Unfortunately, as we know, the liberals won't say a word about this, only conservatives, and the DBM won't cover the story!!!

I don’t get it. An educated, well spoken, successful black businessman is a “monkey” and a “race traitor”. But an uneducated criminal fool who votes the white liberal approved way is a “real” black man. Not something I’d be proud of if I was this columnist. Imagine what a Detroit of Herman Cains would accomplish. Versus what “authentic” black mayors have actually done to the city.

I just started paying attention to Mr. Cain. I like what I see so far. I hope he does not disappoint. Heaven knows we need someone who understands business and is serious, but who has solid conservative credentials.
