I think that I’m thankful that we have men and women journalists willing to cover news events that are often difficult and dangerous. If my daughter decided to do this for a living, of course I’d be concerned—but I’d respect her choice. And if she were ever hurt the way this woman was hurt, I’d never say, “See what you did?”
Again, she didn't have any protection. None. If I were her, I'd rather be in the worst part of Afghanistan surrounded by a Special Forces team than in the middle of Cairo with a cameraman.
