“The US is one of only a handful of countries that allow their soldiers to vote in elections. In most European countries, when someone becomes a soldier, they give up their right to vote.”

That makes no sense. What documentation do you have for this? Seems like a lot to give up, when you’re serving your country.

That makes no sense. It actually makes a lot of sense. It removes the military as a political force. Robert Heinlein suggested that if you're going to serve in public office (maintaining a government sector job) that your voting privileges be suspended until you retire to prevent a bureaucratic voting bloc.
