They'll fire contractors before they fire civil servants, believe me. Been there, had that done to me. Agencies like DoD, NASA, Dept. of Energy, all make use of contractors to get most of the real, useful work done. They'll axe those and keep the paper pushers. It's already happened to NASA under Obama. Thousands of people working on Ares and Orion have been canned, and the GOP had nothing to do with it. So the ‘Rats better not try the old, hackneyed “mean Republicans firing poor Federal workers” gambit, because the blood is on their hands already

Lets be honest, cutting contractors is key.

The only people that gain from contractors are the board of directors and c-levels at these beltway contractors

Lockheed, Northrup Grumman, CSC, BAE, etc all charge the taxpayers overhead of over 100 percent, G&A costs of 10-15 percent, and fringe benefits in the 30-40 percent range.

A person whose salary is 50 dollars an hour costs the taxpayer 150 dollars an hour when you add in base pay, fringe, overhead and G&A.

And yes this would personally hurt me as I flipped over to the contractor side a few years ago after being involved in national secruity so that I could cash in on this game.

You eliminate or reduce the use of contractors and you will save the taxpayers a very large chunk of money
