In other words:

The ends justify the means.

As I said I haven't heard many complaints from actual Americans who have had their rights taken away

You'd think if the overstep was so egrerious we would have had some lawsuits vs. the Gov't by now...or even plain old media reports.

>>Officials Warn of Domestic Terrorism Threat<<

The terrorist threat facing our country has evolved significantly in the last 10 years—and continues to evolve,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told a House committee exploring the threat from homegrown radicals.

Siding with the Constitution is never a losing issue for me.

Even your ideal Police State can't guaranty safety.

And you are completely clueless on this one.

Orwell would be proud of the clever use of language the “patriot” act.

DHS domestic-extremist-lexicon_165213935473 (cont.)

(U) patriot movement (U//FOUO) A term used by rightwing extremists to link their beliefs to those commonly associated with the American Revolution. The patriot movement primarily comprises violent antigovernment groups such as militias and sovereign citizens.
(also: Christian patriots, patriot group, Constitutionalists, Constitutionist)

(U) anti-immigration
extremism
(U//FOUO) A movement of groups or individuals who are vehemently opposed to illegal immigration, particularly along the U.S. southwest border with Mexico, and who have been known to advocate or engage in criminal activity and plot acts of violence and terrorism to advance their extremist goals. They are highly critical of the U.S. Government’s response to illegal immigration and oppose government programs that are designed to extend “rights” to illegal aliens, such as issuing driver’s licenses or national identification cards and providing in-state tuition, medical benefits, or public education.

Yeah that trusty, ever courageous “media” will report governmental instrusions and save our liberty. Keep dreaming.

No one that is favor of this new extension has answered this question:

Why would you give MORE power to the same exact institutions that let this attack happen?

(U//FOUO) Rightwing Extremism: Current
Economic and Political Climate Fueling
Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment

(U//LES) The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has no specific information that domestic rightwing* terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues. The economic downturn and the election of the first African American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment.

— (U//LES) Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal
through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning.

(U//FOUO) The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.

Well, maybe not illegal but certainly ill advised and poorly executed and drawn out and not in our citizen’s best interests.

The problem here is the federal gov’t has begun to act in its own self interest and does not care about the welfare of the People.

The Patriot Aact, Obamacare, our “wars” overseas, have no benefit for the people of this country.

The Consitution is a document and set of laws that provide the anitdote for this federal monster.

Why do you oppose those that would act in accordance with the Constitution and against the growth of the Fed?

“The real problem and central question in this country is:
Are we a country of laws (the Constitution) or men?
I guess you don’t mind that men rule as long as it’s the guys you like?
The Patriot Act, Federal Reserve, czars etc. are grossly illegal.”

It is funny that pissant, a Tea Party member does not care about the Constitution or what it says. He isn’t even for limited government, as he shows that he has has unlimited faith in government because he would rather allow the secret police to violate the Constitution.

I can’t WAIT for the 9000 telescreens where our fearless leaders tell us if we “see something, say something” while standing in line at Wal Mart.

No word on their response in California, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas if someone reports a suspicious border crossing.....but if granny goes to the airport....WATCH OUT.

The left was up in arms over the Patriot Act (and still are).

If you think the media would have neglected to attack Bush if given the chance, then you don't know our beloved media. If it had, the ACLU would be all over it like termites.

Truth is...the Patriot Act did not result in egrerious intrusions of liberty as the left predicted.

Exactly.

And there are so many more of them out there.

Not only that but we have several potential presedential candidates who say that “their” version of monster gov’t will be better than the current version.

We need to remember that the Constitution and God’s favor is what allows this country to flourish, NOT GOVERNMENT.

Do you ever wonder why Bush didn’t ask Congress to declare war?

Um... What was this then?

The President asked Congress. This is what they gave him. Nothing illegal in that at all...

Don't go off on a tagent though. This is about the blatantly unConstitutional and misnamed USA PATRIOT Act.
