Likely...but the way to get rid of it is to offset it with some other kind of tax-break so people don’t feel it so deeply.


It’s tough. I think we need to let technocrats do this, that $1.6 TRILLION deficit must be closed and some debt paid, but everyone wants to keep their deductions. Appoint a bi-partisan commission (like we did) but with an agreement that their decision is voted and passed. Cut SS, raise retirement age, raise taxes, cut medicare, cut military spending, flat taxes, sell government land...whatever.

Yes, but tax-breaks will be way more likely to be re-invested in the economy somehow.

Cut Gov't spending, but don't hike taxes.
