There was an incident in Iraq. He had to retire.
/////////////////////////

You read the reported “incident”. correct? Then why didn't you recount it here instead of implying he was forced to retire. We who are conservative, already know of Col. West's bravery and character on behalf of his men during his tour in Iraq. In point of fact , his extracting intelligence by firing his side arm in proximity to a captured terrorist saved soldiers under his command and showed he put his men's welfare over his own. If things get worse in the middle east and the Islamic terrorism front as they already are, Col. West's behavior in Iraq will become an asset in a campaign. Your comments sir are disingenuous and reveal more about your character than Col. West's.

I guess I was being lazy. He allegedly fired a shot over a detainee’s head to get information. I don’t care what he did with or to the detainee quite honestly but it sounds like a possible problem. Just looking out for Sarah, since the “Palin rules” are in effect with her....well let’s just say that if she gets as far as teh nomination her choice will be the most scrutinized ever, and any black marks on the vp candidate’s record will be turned into the holocaust by the media.

My understanding was that the incident did indeed force him in some way to leave the military.
