Rumsfeld is and always has been a complete idiot. His view on this subject is simply another piece of evidence proving the point. He idiocy was on full display during the early days of the War on Terror, but many on this forum were in full denial shouting, RUMMY, RUMMY, RUMMY without any critical analysis of who the guy really was.
Rumsfeld, Bremer, and Sanchez were the architects of failure in the early days of Iraq and its time for Freepers to wake up and realize what a loser this guy really is.
His tenure as Sec of Def under Ford wasn't so great either. When W picked him the word BOHICA came to mind. He started a military downturn under Ford that took several years to recover from.
