Lobbyist's death ruled accidental (Turton)

The death of a lobbyist in a Capitol Hill garage fire last month has been ruled accidental by the D.C. medical examiner's office, which said Friday that 37-year-old Ashley Turton died from burns and inhaling "products of combustion."

An autopsy also found that "acute alcohol intoxication" contributed to her death, the office said.

Delauro in this video mentions “a staffer just died” but won't even mention her name? WTF?

A few seconds after that she says something about "Allison". Does she not know Ashley's name or is she already past the death and just rambling?

Of the 3:41 minutes of the video, it takes her a mere 30 seconds to welcome the office and mention some un-named former staffer who died in a fire in DC. The remaining 3+ minutes she ran with the headlines of the day about Arizona. What the heck is all her blathering about politics - I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony and lalala kumbaya! Further proof politicians only concern themselves with that day's headlines and face time. How sad.

Twitter from the WTOP reporter. I asked if he knew if she was coming or going.
NealAugenstein @Crosslink01 @pursueliberty My understanding is leaving home, but car rolled forward into bench. I don’t buy any suggestion of conspiracy.

“Slim to none? Why take a picture of the side of a house showing the garage in which a fire would claim someone’s life 12 hrs later?”

Creepy. Very Creepy. How many times does a stranger just pop by and take a picture of your house for no reason?

Here is an article about Pelosi being pissed and “grilling” Dan Turton.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20010522-503544.html

Ashley Turton worked for Pelosi when Pelosi was House Speaker.

It's a small, small, world.

He doesn’t, but apparently Wayne Madsen does (well, at least speculate about what ‘juicy’ tidbits she took with her). The book deal or even the threat of shopping a book deal seems quite plausible. Maybe Mr. Madsen tweets and would like some additional ‘followers.’

Thank you both for pinting that there IS a slope (I didn’t see it til I followed your visual cues on the monitor screen). It is there, though slight, but not pronounced enough to cause the ‘roll’ that is being alleged.

What type of people are these, that those terms were used, by a Congresswoman during a euology in a Church!?! Is everything a comedy routine? Go for a laugh, or being just a wee bit darker, could the rememberance of the ‘rough’ language be part of the ‘discredit Ashley’ meme?

What happened to their buzzword of civility?

You’re right, it is very slight. Not enough to cause a vehicle to roll in any direction. But even if it was a steep slope, enough to cause the vehicle to roll, it would roll down hill toward the road, not up hill into the garage. She has the vehicle in reverse, backing down the driveway, and the vehicle decides to roll forward up hill.

The cover story is extremely insulting to everyone’s intelligence.

You ask a lot of great questions. The photographer might be doing something on the trendy neighborhood or the architecture of the building or even doing comparison photos for real estate values. Oddly, he doesn’t preface his reasons for having taken the “last” photo before the fire. It validate authenticity wouldn’t you want to add ‘I was working for XYZ Realty that Sunday...’

I have found from experience that no politician says anything or word for no purpose.

Strange timing. That WaPo guest book (with seven entries) was available yesterday when I posted the link.

The cover story is extremely insulting to everyone’s intelligence.

The cover story reeks, which is often the case when an event is apparently a warning to others and not an accident.

Not one person posting over there thinks this is an accident.

One interesting comment from a poster was that perhaps the reason the husband was not going ballistic when he saw the burning BMW and said that all people were accounted for was that he knew his wife was someplace else (perhaps someplace she should not be?) and gave a lame excuse he thought she had left for work already.

Hard driving, good looking, type A, connected, 37 old blond drawn to power?

One could speculate she was brought home from wherever, placed in her own car, and the car lit on fire...with the radiator punched, and who knows what else to make the fire burn fast.

“I don’t buy any suggestion of conspiracy.”

What facts led the reporter to draw such a conclusion. And, since when is it a reporter’s job to do so. Isn’t it their job to ask the questions?

Another inconsistency seems to be the original stories coming out said that the husband was awakened by neighbors pounding on his door.

Now the stories are saying he was awakened by smoke alarms going off.

What the heck gives there? Did the story change?

He was awakened by smoke alarms, but didn’t check on his wife or dial 911?

“He was awakened by smoke alarms, but didn’t check on his wife or dial 911?”

Make no sense, eh?

There is also a thread going on here where six pages of comments are calling BS on this.

I see reports from other freepers that the first guest book is closed. I found a google cache of five of the seven posts that were in it before it was shut down. I haven’t been able to pull up the other 2 yet. Forgive me, I’m too lazy for html right now.

Seems Neal has his marching orders:

@Crosslink01 IMO, I see no evidence or credible suggestion of foul play based on police and fire investigators, and common sense.
