The death of a lobbyist in a Capitol Hill garage fire last month has been ruled accidental by the D.C. medical examiner's office, which said Friday that 37-year-old Ashley Turton died from burns and inhaling "products of combustion."
An autopsy also found that "acute alcohol intoxication" contributed to her death, the office said.
Let me be clear why I posted the two articles. Yesterday at 5 PM they released the long awaited results of the autopsy and the cause of death of Ashley Turton. It had been over four weeks. They dumped the news on a Friday, at 5:00 PM in the midst of one of the largest stories this decade, the President of Egypt being forced out of office. However, on Friday they said the case was still under investigation, and said nothing about whether the death was accidental or something else.
Then OVERNIGHT, came another story that the death was magically ruled accidental. Stories the following morning (Saturday, today) led with the “accidental” line.
If the actual autopsy report (which has not been released) said the death was accidental, I am SURE it would been noted in the Friday news dump. But it was not.
By the time I am up on Saturday someone has added the information to the story that the death is accidental.
Two different stories. One released Friday at 5:00 PM. The other released overnight.
Saying two different things.
That is why I posted the two stories.

Thank you for your work on this case. I have sad news. I was just tweeted by the only reporter working this story from WTOP. He has ended his investigation.
Just free republic now can find the truth for this mother who did not deserve to die in a slow horrible death just because she helped the progressive mafia gain power and became a threat.

I have read every story and every blog I can find on this topic and as far as I can tell no one has released the name of the medical examiner.
However, in the spirit of full disclosure, several of the stories have stated that said un-named medical examiner has refused to comment on the details of the case.

You are welcome, but it may not be that bad. The articles are still saying the investigation is open. I think there are still people trying to figure out how she could be stone drunk at 5 AM, and how the fire was started.
Unless the whole thing is fixed.
No problem. I don't mean to be fixated on this, but none of what I read and hear seems to fit.
It beggars belief.

I can still find no official release from the DC Medical Examiner or Metro Police regarding the autopsy.
It begs the question if the first reporting source had a hard copy or were they repeating what was told?

(Inspector General Charles J.) Willoughby urged the office, which is responsible for investigating and certifying all violent or unexplained deaths, to take steps to get inspected and accredited by the National Association of Medical Examiners.
The report, which was released last week, comes as Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D) continues to seek an extended temporary change in a law that requires the medical examiner to be a certified forensic pathologist. The council changed the law in late 2004 to allow Mayor Anthony A. Williams (D) to appoint Pierre-Louis , a deputy who had worked in the agency for 18 years. She does not have the required certification in forensic pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
Pierre-Louis , who is paid $185,000 a year, was appointed to complete the term of Jonathan L. Arden, who resigned after allegations of sexual harassment, racial discrimination and dereliction of duty. His six-year term expired April 29.
Since February, the city has been advertising for a board- certified chief medical examiner, who would be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council to serve a six-year statutory term.
In a letter to D.C. Council Chairman Vincent C. Gray (D), Fenty asked for a one-year waiver in the law, saying it would allow Pierre-Louis to remain in the position while the administration continues to search for a permanent chief medical examiner.
