BREAKING: At CPAC, Andrew Ian Dodge Announces Primary Challenge To Olympia Snowe

At CPAC today, during his panel titled "Andrew Ian Dodge and the World of Tomorrow," Tea Party activist and author Andrew Ian Dodge announced his candidacy for Republican Senator for Maine, challenging sitting Republican in Name Only Olympia Snowe.

Polls show that Snowe is vulnerable to a conservative challenger, with 59% of the Republican base saying they would prefer a "conservative" challenger.

...basically everyone else in the state has a more positive view of Snowe, the poll found.
Dodge writes at Pajamas Media and is a leader in the Maine Tea Party Movement, but is he the conservative Maine Republicans are looking for?

Sad to hear. I hope we get better candidates. Dodge’s facebook page has focused only on supporting GOProud lately. He has been showing that he can’t multitask.

Before I get excited about this, is this gentleman a real conservative....or just another Scott Brown?

I’ve about had my fill of poseurs claiming to be conservatives.

Maine is a REALLY small state.

Dodge’s family has been in Maine for a few hundred years from what I understand... which is about the only way to overcome the gimme gimme welfare mentality of the majority of Maine’s voters.

LePage leads the way... it could be possible to unseat Snowe, but it would require significant numbers of feet on the ground for Dodge or whoever because every MSM outlet in Maine is going to back their swayback pork delivery service.

You know I’ve decided that traitors to the Republican name need to GONE, regardless who replaces them. There must be a price paid or it will never stop, and we have to take them down one at a time. Let’s not reward Snowe with a re-election solely out of fear of her replacement. Make her pay the price and we deal with him next as we can not have it all, all the time. One at a time.

I will have to openly support someone else. Surely someone else will come to the forefront. I will write in someone else before voting for either Dodge or Snowe. This guy makes my skin crawl. There are several people working in the Tea Party or Republican party that could do much better than Dodge.
