RE: You are over 60 years old
You don’t have to be 60. Even a few years younger will make a hiring manager think twice. AGEISM is RAMPANT.
The average company mentality is this -— when you’re in your 50’s, your expendable (I’d love for anyone to show me a few companies that don’t think this way).
And the government has the gall to make you work till you’re 66 today for you to get your Social Security !! ( Shaking my head is sorrow ).
That’s how it is: when you are 50 to 60, you are expendable. By the time I was 22, I was already investing in mutual funds and building my portfolio because by the time I hit 30, there was no way I could live my life for another decade doing a 9 to 5 job, while being yelled at 10 in the morning for financial reports ala “Office Space”. (Yes, it has happened). That’s why I became a consultant.
By the time you hit 50, you should be on the Board of Directors. It pains me to see parents nowadays say “make good and you’ll work for a company for 40 years” instead of “Become an independent and stable consultant by 30 and create your own business”.
“And the government has the gall to make you work till youre 66 today for you to get your Social Security !! “
Same should apply for pensions of all elected officials including the president.
