a lot of money with little recent gain

You one of those “instant gratification” types ?

NASA has been the driving force in MOST of the technological innovations in our country, even in our world, for the last 50 years or so.

I support NASA keeping on doing what they do.

(I don’t support NASA doing what 0 wants out of them at the moment)

They achieved great things in the past, then they lost lives on shuttles that didn’t even need to be manned anymore. Christie McAuliffe can now be remembered as the first teacher that died in a space shuttle accident; for what? She never even got into space (as though that had any meaning in the larger scheme of things - ask her children). We’ve now lost 2 of them, with little justification.

We should at least be able to hurl toxic waste into the sun with them in these empty cargo containers all over NJ, and have them return with holds brimming with moon-oil or something.

Ok, I’ll bite. This is complete nonsense.

What has NASA done since 1970 that has been a “driving force”?
