A steady stream of Texas Rep. Ron Paul's supporters walked out of a planned tribute for Donald Rumsfeld at CPAC Thursday afternoon. The walk-out had been planned ahead of time in part by Campaign for Liberty organizers and it seemed to be supported by more than 100 CPAC attendees.
The former defense secretary was also booed when took to the stage. There seemed to be a back-and-forth between Paul supporters and other CPAC attendees trying to drown each other out while Rumsfeld watched.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney then took the stage, but the heckling did not stop in what was an amazing display of friction. Someone in the crowd yelled to Cheney above the din "draft dodger." Nonetheless, the crowd is overwhelmingly warm to Rumsfeld, who eventually took his place in the presentation.

A circus it was. Did anyone post the video of Donald Trump saying Ron Paul couldn’t win, and the reaction from the Paulasms?

The Constitution has ceased to mean anything to many conservatives, except as a talisman to wave about in an emotional frenzy in support of some vague, emotionally held ideas about America, an America which in fact, bears NO RESEMBLANCE to the state described in the document.
I can think of no better illustration of this that CPACs decision to give DONALD RUMSFIELD the award of Defender of the Constitution
This man is one of the biggest advocates of the growth of the state, in the name of defending our way of life, that we have seen in US history. In view of the fact that the Constitutions primary objective is to LIMIT the role of the Federal government, this just confirms to me that the CONSTITUTION refers not to a document, nor to its teachings/basis for law, but for some patriotic goo of flag waving church going Republican voting folk, whose ignorance is matched only by their self righteous smugness as they, merrily destroy the republic in the name of saving it.
Remember, it is only fascism when the other guys do it. We, otoh, believe in God and country and are, by definition, the good guys. Right? WE can advocate invading and subjugating any country we wish at any time, keeping our military there as long as we want, ruthless and relentless spying on our own citizens, encouraging more and more taxes to support foreign aid that makes a tinpot dictator like Mubarak worth over 40 billion dollars, ruthless seizure of moneys until people can “prove” it is not drug tainted.......,, we can do all this because WE are the good guys. Yeah, that is the ticket.
When challenged, we just turn up the volume on Sean Hannity and splutter some nonsense about how it would work if it wasnt for those liberals who gunk up the works and corrupt everything. Either that, or we wave terrifying images of sharia law and a worldwide caliphate and insist that invading every damned country on the planet and removing every freedom men died for is the only alternative to this.
This bag of sh*t is what conservatism has become? No thank you. I prefer the older, wiser sort, where folks KNEW WHAT THE CONSTITUTION SAID and actually supported a hamstrung, small, ineffective federal government, a military so focused on DEFENSE ONLY that it is illegal for a defense appropriation bill to last more than two years, so that states had their own militias for defense, and there were no alphabet agencies of any sort, be they the social meddling EPA/HUD/DEA etc to the security monster which simply grows and grows. Idiot conservatives today think they can feed one head of a two headed beast and the monster will starve.
One thing is good about all this, though. The imbeciles have BANKRUPTED the country so that this idiocy is going to have to stop soon simply because there aint no more money. Thanks alot, Dick deficits dont matter Cheney, and Don Rumsfield. Defender of the Constituion! Hoo rah. Makes me just wanna go out and sing the star spangled banner, it does!
In many ways, I am a lesbian...and a very good one too.
We are already seeing violence at rallies be it Union thugs, anarchists and feral humans. I believe in organized anti-goon squads that look for trouble makers at each and every rally. It doesn’t hurt to have people with security in mind for both the speakers and those attending...especially plain clothed ones. I’d volunteer in a heartbeat. I could even teach basic martial arts skills and techniques for taking down aggressors.
You may be a psychotic lesbian trapped in the body of an insane heterosexual male. Diverse times.
Ron Paul Kids Do Us Proud

At the CPAC meeting, when everyone was supposed to salute blood-drenched authoritarians Cheney and Rumsfeld, the Ron Paul libertarians refused, and walked out. One young man asked, & bin Laden? Others called the chickenhawk Cheney, draft-dodger&; and ;war criminal. The red-state fascists chanted, ;USA! USA! by which they mean, Pentagon! Pentagon! Notice that the liberal Democratic TPM is bugged by the opposition to Cheney-Rumsfeld (headline: Ron Paul Supporters Hijack Cheney-Rumsfeld Reuniona sweet reunion, hijacked by bad boys and girls!). In the Beltway, forget all the pretend splits: they all love the State. Except the Ron Paulians, of course.
Political Libertarians constantly seek ways to demonstrate that they are the Trotskyites of the American Right. Loud, boorish, disruptive and totally irrelevant are all ways to describe them and these young fools as well. There certainly can be no dialog or even common ground with people who resort to vitriol and abuse in lieu of argument. Someone confronted the Libertarian Saint Rothbard with this comment and his reaction was as jejune and vituperative as these simpletons. My opinion is that on political issues Libs do realize that the train has left and there is no going back ever to their vision of the appropriate role for the US in the world (one which never existed at any time in history, another item that produces Lib meltdown if mentioned.). This realization of the profound irrelevance of their deeply held core beliefs on the role of the US in the world makes them more than a little crazy on subjects such as foreign affairs and the role and mission of US armed forces.
That is why the nitwits go to the extremes to hide who and what they are. They are not house broken, they wet in the floor and they like kiddie porn.
Welcome to the club then! You made the claim of Ron Paul being the most conservative, but a funny thing happened Comedian, you also didn't site any data, even after I challenged you for some. BTW, you are violating your own policy of not conversing with psychotic lesbians.
Don't you have a moral compass?
However, the things I say about Ron Paul are true, his quotes and his associations. Would you like for me to point you the way, or is the "interweb" too complicated?
yep, our nation has lost both moral and economic values.
