Very true. In Arab society, the worst thing that can happen to you is losing face, because then the predators that surround you can decide that it's safe to rip you to pieces.
I would not be surprised that Mubarak is the kind of person who would rather go down in flames than slink away in humiliation. And if HE goes down in flames, he would want to do it in a way that takes Obama down with him.
