Southern Discomfort Democrats no longer need the South, but the region needs them.
The American Prospect ^ | February 9, 2011 | Mark Schmitt

...In 2012, the president's strategists can choose between trying to reproduce Obama's narrow wins in the affluent corners of the South (not including Florida) or attempting to hold on to swing states like Nevada and Colorado, where Democratic senators in 2010 won on support from well-organized Hispanic voters and the labor movement. It's not a tough call. It would be almost impossible to make the case for investing political resources in the South. The divorce is final. And largely for the good, as congressional Democrats will no longer have to twist their policies beyond recognition to accommodate Southern Democrats who are doomed anyway.

Oh, please, let this idiot’s idea catch on! It would prevent further contamination of the South and Southwest by Leftists who foul their nests and then move to sane states and immediately begin working to foul the new nests. We are sick of it.

Have not really heard from him much since becoming a Senator. However, it's only been about 30 days and he's a freshman. He's more in the traditional conservative mold and not a tea party mold (even though they strongly supported him). I don't think he will make any waves like Rand Paul. He's a solid conservative so I'm sure his input will be valuable.

Democrats sustained African slavery, forced the Cherokee Nation from North Carolina to Oklahoma, and gave us the KKK and racial segregation.

Why the Hell do we need them?

"is he speaking at CPAC?"

That's a good question. Hope so, though the field could be crowded with all of the Presidential contenders probably wanting to speak. The NRA convention is in Pittsburgh this year though I don't think he's on the schedule yet. Seems like another good place for a pro gun Senator from Pa to make a national speech.

“Democrats no longer need the South, but the region needs them.
No, actually, we don’t.”

Thats why we have replaced the Dems with the GOP. In fact Barry Soetoro is going to have a really hard time getting on the GA ballot as we will be requiring a long form BC. Hasta la Vista Barry and your merry band of Marxists. Us southern folks don’t need you around anyhow.

Remember this fact—George Soros has only one lifetime objective that matters to him. One World Gov’t. His Open Society concept, complete with its own language, needs to have currency. The dollar must fail in order for that to happen.

Soros is old. His movement is closer to completion than it ever has been. His “god complex” is driving him to complete in his life time. He’s very smart, but he will mess up, because he wants this so much.

This bit of info is a directive to his agents. But it doesn’t need to be taken at face value without further investigation. There is a reason the convention is being held in the south.

There is no need to get up in arms at this moment. What is needed is to hide and watch for a time while diligently and stealthily marshaling the forces for the 2012 cycle.

But then I’m just a little ole southern gal with big opinions. Take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

1. Given the rejiggering of the latest census, can Obama, (or the Dem nominee) win in 2012 without the South?

2. The Dem party is hemmoraging southern whites like crazy, (and some blacks). Several state congressmen have flipped from D to R, (one in LA just the other day). Al Sharpton has noticed and commented on this phenomenon.

3. I believe the South is lost to the Dem party, whether they blow it off or not, and that they can no longer win without it.

Conversely the free traders and pro banker GOP is killing support from the Reagan Democrats that are needed to hold onto the mid West/Great Lakes. Want to win 2012, give me a candidate that has a history of going after corporate America when they cross the line and screw the taxpayer. The first candidate that will make an effort to put the bankers in jail for their shenanigans has my vote. Only GOP potential that has that history is Gov Palin. She broke up the fix contracting schemes of the old GOP/oil companies as well as go after large oil companies that win leases to drill oil and then sat on the state land. This is one of the legitimate point the Dem left makes about oil companies claiming they need more land for drilling when they already have plenty of land and no activity during the Bush and to an extent the Clinton years. Note: Obama makes the situation even worst under its current DoE/EPA/Interior Dept with all their reg hurdles to drilling on land.
