actually.....that should be the new formula for SS

1--compute the average life expectancy
2--add 1 year to it
3--this becomes the new SS eligibility age

In the early days of Social Security the “1 year” you have in Step 2 was more like 4 or 5 years.

Life expectancy around 60, retirement age 65.
