Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey said Monday that MSNBC's Chris Matthews "seems to be slipping out of touch with reality."

On Tuesday, the "Hardball" host proved Armey's point by calling Sarah Palin "a cuckoo clock" and Newt Gingrich "a mortal enemy to our civilization."

Imus had the best assessment: "Nobody takes Chris Matthews seriously. I mean, I can't imagine they do. That's just not -- there's no relevance. There's no audience, no relevance, and he's a vile human being. And angry. He's angry because he didn't wind up being Tim Russert."
