Author and activist David Horowitz says it's absolutely outrageous that some elementary and intermediate school students will be forced to take Arabic language and culture classes in a Dallas-Fort Worth suburb.
Several Dallas television stations have reported that the Mansfield Independent School District is instituting the Arabic language studies after receiving a federal grant from the Foreign Language Assistance Program of the U.S. Department of Education (DOE). Under the program, Arabic classes would be mandatory at an elementary and intermediate school in the district and optional at the middle and high schools. (See earlier article)
The DOE program identifies Arabic as "a language of the future." But David Horowitz, founder of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, says Arabic is now a language of the past.
"What has the Arab world contributed except terror?" he exclaims. "The theocratic, repressive Arabic states do no significant science, no significant arts and culture."
The political activist admits he is skeptical about the district's claim that the courses will be about language and culture, and not about the Islamic religion.
"We already have a lot of infiltration of Islamic jihadist doctrines into our K-12 school systems," he argues. "The teachers unions have ruined our K-12 schools. These unions are very left-wing and they encourage Palestinian terrorists to come to the school and indoctrinate students. So I'm not too happy about this news item."
Horowitz says if the Mansfield ISD really wanted to look at a "language of the future," they would teach their children Chinese.

This nonsense in our 'public' (government) schools will never stop. Long past time to stop the government schools and to eliminate the Department of mis-Education!
What's wrong with you parents in Texas that you allow this suicide to continue?
Regulating education is not an enumerated power granted to Congress in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution and therefore is a power reserved to the states or the people per the 10th Amendment. Consequently the mere existence of the DOE is Unconstitutional and must be abolished!!
Can Arabic culture really be separated from Islam ?
#3 - I think the answer is NO. There really needs to be an investigation into who was behind this incredibly sinister plan.
I don’t think so.
The number of non-muslim arabs are few. Those that are Coptic Christians are becoming fewer in number as the mudslimes kill them off.
No more than Western culture can be separated from Christianity. Whether the western secularists will admit it or not, Western culture would be vastly different without the teachings of Christ and Moses.
They did offer Chinese. While the idea of Arabic studies sounds like drifting toward the Englsih multicultural programs, this was a “second language” course as an option versus say german, french etc. Parents wanted to know what was in the course and it was withdraw to “evaluate”. It helps when people get their facts - Dennis Prager would not approve of David H rant.
Here’s the latest news release from the school district.

NO
arab culture is islam
therefore the schools would be teaching islam in the guise of cultural respect
but hey, the kiddies do need to be able to read arabic to read the true koran, looks like someone is prepping them
The Federal Government is in critical shape now and in danger of being pummeled by angry citizens!
Mike
One would have to wonder if the cultural studies would include genital mutilation, beheading and stoning techniques?
.. or, how to stop the bleeding when a hand is cut off?...or, when it is o.k. to kill your daughter for sneaking a kiss from an infidel?....or, what kind of burka must be worn to the grocery store?......
Actually, we are the ones who stopped it (sorta) as soon as we learned about it!
The watch is on these goobers, however, as they will probably try something else behind our backs.
[February 8, 2011] Mansfield ISD was recently awarded a Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant focused on the Arabic language from the Department of Education. The District applied for this grant because the Arabic language is listed by the federal government as a critical language. This means that our country has a shortage of Arabic speakers and there is a need for people who are not only proficient in the Arabic language, but also possess knowledge about its cultures and traditions. Recent concerns have been raised by parents concerning plans for the curriculum. We are working with parents and staff for the language curriculum development.
The FLAP grant was created to establish programs to address national shortages in languages including Arabic, Chinese and Russian. Mansfield ISD was one of five school districts in the country selected to receive the Arabic grant. Programs related to the FLAP Arabic grant were scheduled to begin this semester at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School. Optional Arabic foreign language classes were scheduled to begin next year at T.A. Howard Middle School. Some have raised questions and concerns about the district’s implementation of the grant. Therefore, Mansfield ISD is slowing the implementation process and will be seeking input from parents in a variety of ways. Parents will have full access to the written curriculum and will have opportunities for input prior to the district moving forward with this program. |
There's the real problem. De fund the DOE now.

That insane idea has already been scrapped.
