However, imho,
God has set this situation up.
1. To discipline Israel for foresaking Him so wholesale.
2. To show HIMSELF mighty in Israel’s behalf as her only true Provision, Safety, Help, Security, God.

Won’t be a ground war, agreed.
Israel’s problem is that its enemies do not feel constrained by the rules of war. They blow up buses and discos, they blow up embassies, they brutally torture and kill POWs and deny Red Cross access, and they indiscriminately shoot missiles into population centers.
In the next war, Israel will face an onslaught of missiles and rockets from Lebanon and Gaza (and possibly Egypt), perhaps 10,000-20,000 or more if the enemies wanted to. This would be a rain of terror from the skies and the whole country would be the terror victim. It would rain bombs and missiles and rockets everywhere, anywhere.
How can Israel respond to this kind of war? They are working on anti-rocket and anti-missile technology, but Israel faces tens of thousands of indiscriminate deaths and billions upon billions of dollars in property damage.
I’m not sure what Israel can or would do. They might have to bear the brunt of the initial attack, and then try to take the capitals, knock out supply routes etc. I figure they would not invade Lebanon but instead would invade Syria (to topple the regime, disconnect Lebanon from Iran, and cut off the land flow of smuggling), take the Eastern Sinai (to root out smuggling tunnels, assuming Egypt is not willing or able to) and hopefully they won’t have a western front on the West Bank/Jordan to deal with.
Of course if they took Syria, it would put them face to face with Iranian troops for the first time, ever. So they may choose to stop at Damascus (regime change only) because they would have a left flank problem if they need to supply a full frontal land war with Iran. That left flank being Lebanon/Hezbullah.
