The townhouses near/on Capitol Hill have all been extensively renovated. What you see on the OUTSIDE may not reflect what is on the INSIDE.

There could be an interior door and an electrical door closing system ~ JUST LIKE CALIFORNIA!

It is highly presumptuous that the people came down the stairs, opened the main door, and then walked in and got in the car. In fact, that outside stairs could just be an historic facade!

I'm sticking with my BLOWS UP FIRST, BACKS OUT SECOND scenario ~ and that's because the vehicle didn't go into the street ~ with local oxygen consumed, the engine died in a couple of strokes!

That could be. Don't know how much force would be required to blow the car back 1/8 of its length. Don't see any marks on the back of the vehicle, indicating it met no resistance from the garage door being closed.

Not seeing anywhere in those photos where an interior door is possible. Look closely at all the angles provided. I believe that's the garage door(s) in the first photo....they look like wood. If that car "blew" after the door was opened by someone ....how does that affect your theory?
