No. The “Rod from God” was a kinetic weapon that was intended for ground targets, not ballistic missiles. The original concept was the HTTP, or the Hypersonic Tungsten Telephone Pole that was intended to be launched on a hot missile at high G and strike it’s target at Mach 35+. It was essentially a 12” diameter by 20 foot long solid tungsten rod with a guidance system on it.
Not quite the same as this...and well before its time.
