The founder of a Muslim-oriented New York television station has been convicted of beheading his wife in 2009.
Muzzammil 'Mo' Hassan, 46, never denied that he killed Aasiyah Hassan, 37 inside the suburban Buffalo station the couple established to promote cultural understanding.
A jury on Monday rejected his claim he was the victim of spousal abuse.
Hassan acted as his own lawyer during the trial in Buffalo.
The Pakistan-born Hassan has been in custody since Feb. 12, 2009, when he walked into the Orchard Park police station and told officers his wife was dead.
Her decapitated body was found at the studios of Bridges TV in town.
The Hassans had two young children.
The murder took place soon after his wife filed for divorce. Hassan was accused of stabbing and decapitating his wife inside the studios of Bridges TV.
The Pakistan-born couple founded the station to counter negative images of Muslims after 9/11.

The jury deliberated for a little over an hour before reaching their verdict.
The judge has scheduled Hassan's sentencing for March 9, 2011, where he faces a sentence of up to 25-years-to life behind bars.
Hassan was led away in handcuffs.
Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita, Jr. called Hassan a "vicious murderer" during a press conference after the verdict.
The jury declined to speak to the media about the trial or their decision.
Earlier, Hassan delivered his closing arguments, followed by the prosecution.
"Ladies and gentlemen this is not a divorce case, this is a murder case," said Colleen Curtin Gable, prosecutor.
Jurors were told that Aasiya Hassan may have been conscious when the defendant started to behead her on February 12, 2009.

Every day muslims illustrate ironclad reasons why they do not deserve to be regarded as members of the human race.
I still do not understand why this is not Murder One. It was obviously a planned, brutal killing of an unarmed and non-threatening person.
